A pilgrimage is a journey, taken for spiritual reasons.
"The Three W's" best sum up the "why" in "Why are we walking?"
W = WALK in prayer, penance, and praise of God for our Holy Catholic Church
W= WITNESS for the cause of RELIGIOUS FREEDOM
W= WIN souls to Christ!
We are walking to thank God for our beautiful world, to speak about and defend our Catholic Faith, and to enjoy meeting and greeting others along the way.
We are walking to thank God for our beautiful world, to speak about and defend our Catholic Faith, and to enjoy meeting and greeting others along the way.
We have written letters to the President of the United States of America, telling him of our intentions, and respectfully imploring him to restore the rights of religious freedom and expression to the citizens of our nation; not just Catholics!
With each step we take, for 100 miles, we lift up our nation's leaders and the people of America, in prayer to Almighty God; a loving and merciful God.
We walk in reparation for our sins and those of the whole world.
On the issue of walking for religious freedom, as of August 1, 2012, Catholic schools, hospitals, and other institutions will be mandated to offer contraceptives and sterilization services among their "health"-care packages. The mandate means that these religious institutions have a choice:
DO IT, GET RID OF YOUR HEALTH CARE INSURANCE PACKAGES, OR CLOSE YOUR DOORS!
Franciscan University, in Steubenville, OH, has already informed its students that they will no longer be offered health-care packages due to this mandate.
WE WALK FOR THEM and for all those who will continue to be affected by this unjust law.

As the great Saint Augustine said, "An unjust law is no law at all".
WE WALK FOR EACH AND ALL OF YOU!
And with each step, we pray:
WE WALK FOR EACH AND ALL OF YOU!
And with each step, we pray:
"Jesus, I trust in You!"
